Nadia Roldan
Illustrator/ Educator
B.A. Art Education, CSULB 2001
M.E. Integrated Teaching Through the Arts, Lesley University 2011
M.F.A Illustration, Academy of Art projected graduation Fall 2021
Nadia Roldan has a strong passion for art that inspires others to embrace their inner child, beauty, and inner power. Beginning her career as an Art Educator, she was inspired to begin her own art career while searching for a creative project for her students. It was through this search she discovered the world of making sock dolls. Inspired by the Vinyl Frontier Exhibit in Pasadena, she began creating paintings and drawings of her sock doll creations and their adventures. Thus, beginning Mizzle Adventures and her art journey; not knowing the impact it would have on her life as well as the lives of so many others around her and across the nation. From a mere sock comes a multi-dimensional character interacting with woodland creatures, taking adventures, and navigating through the emotions of life - joy, sorrow, love, and laughter. Nadia takes not only an artistic journey, developing and refining skill and storytelling, but also brings you through the stages of her life, drawing you in with her imagination, and making you her friend. Currently, she is working on her MFA in illustration.
